A new departure for Swiss Innovation?

This blog has been quiet for a year... Of course a lot of things happened in the past few months that would have deserved a mention here but it seems like there were no big news in terms of startup activities. New ideas continue to pop up in Switzerland, VC money is on the way up again, but there has not been a real sucess story recently.

On the political front, things have been more active. Venturelab is now the main partner of CTI to roll out a national plan to initiate young people to entrepreneurship and guide them through the first steps of starting a company. This put CREATE, the Lausanne-based entrepreneurship center in a difficult situation as they were developing their activities on the assumption that they would continue to receive financing from the government. So far, they have continued to operate on a smaller scale but had to stop a lot of projects already under way at Swiss Unis and HES.
